Welcome to our school! We are delighted that you have taken the time to look at Lamplighter. The Lamplighter School is an independent, co-educational day school for students in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. Since its founding in 1953, the school motto has been, "A student is not a vessel to be filled but a lamp to be lighted."

Lamplighter is a school that consistently strives to promote a high degree of excellence in the teaching and learning of basic and academic skills needed to cope successfully with the demands of contemporary society. At Lamplighter, learning is believed to be a lifelong endeavor. To that end, the Lamplighter community strives to build an environment of trust, where students feel free to express and test their views and can come to enjoy learning for its own intrinsic worth.
