Welcome to The Erik Jonsson Media Center! The media center is a focal point of learning for students, teachers, and the Lamplighter community! With over 26,000 volumes of material the media center is sure to have something that you and your children will enjoy.
Learning to read is a challenging task. Becoming an avid reader is a valuable avocation. The media center provides a welcoming environment and a diversity of resources that encourage students to enjoy reading and become lifelong users of information skills.
The media center specialists and teachers collaborate to promote reading and research among our students. Students come to the media center with their class for integrated instruction, guided internet access, book selection, and story sharing and are welcome to come individually to check out books or other materials as well. It is common to see students curled up in one of the three wells, enjoying reading in the natural lighting that floods the room.
