Endowment
Endowed funds enable donors to establish a legacy at Lamplighter that will forever influence the life of the school. These gifts are invested like savings and provide annual income to the school for the purpose designated by the donor.
Endowed funds can provide financial resources for a program, faculty salaries, professional development, facility maintenance, or student aid into perpetuity. These gifts generate annual income, helping to secure the financial foundation of the school by making our operating budget less sensitive to inflation, giving us greater control over the rate of tuition increases, and decreasing our dependency on tuition to operate the school. In addition, these funds serve as an important permanent asset for Lamplighter.
Lamplighter is currently engaged in a multi-year campaign, Imagine the Possibilities: A Campaign for Lamplighter’s Future, to dramatically increase the endowment resources of the school to $10,000,000. As of the end of the 2006-2007 fiscal year, the market value of the endowed funds held by Lamplighter was $1.6 million. Through Imagine the Possibilities, the school has moved from having one endowed fund to having more than 29 funds. This is an important and exciting initiative, and we hope you will join us in imagining a bright, bold, and secure future for the school by participating in this effort.
