Methods of Giving

There are a number of ways to make an outright contribution to Lamplighter. If you need assistance making your gift or want to discuss a planned gift, please call the Development Office at 214-369-9201, ext. 365.

Gifts of Cash or Credit

The most frequent method used to make a gift to the school is a personal check or credit card. Gifts of cash are tax deductible in the year the gift is given.  Checks should be made payable to The Lamplighter School and should be mailed or delivered to the Development Office.  We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express and can make arrangements to charge a gift on a monthly or scheduled time frame.  You can also charge your gift online.

In many cases, employers will match the amount you give, thus making it possible to double or triple your gift.  Donors receive recognition credit for the match.  You can inquire about matching gifts with your company personnel office or the Development Office.

Gifts of Securities

Publicly traded securities, shares of stock in a closely-held company, bonds, and government issuances may be given to the school. If the securities have appreciated greatly, you may find that you can make a larger gift at a lower cost than if the gift were made in cash.
