Pre-K Half-Day AM: 8:15 - 11:15 a.m.

Pre-K Half-Day PM: 12:15 - 3:15 p.m.

Pre-K All Day through Fourth Grade: 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Morning carpool begins at 7:55 a.m. Afternoon carpool concludes by 3:40 p.m. Extended Day Programs are available before school and after school. 

Lamplighter follows a school-wide six-day rotation, allowing regular instruction in valuable programs such as the arts, sciences, Spanish, media center, technology, and physical education. Instead of Monday through Friday, each day is numbered one through six, with a corresponding color designation to help young students remember the schedule more easily.

Parent-Teacher Conferences provide a meaningful one-on-one opportunity for parents and teachers to review a student's progress through Developmental Records, a detailed account of a student's academic and social expectations for each grade level.

There are four scheduled conferences in a school year:

• Intake Conferences - held in August before the school year begins
• Fall Conferences - held in mid-October
• Winter Conferences - held in early February
• Outtake Conferences - held in May, after the school year concludes

Students in Kindergarten through fourth grade participate in off-campus field trips designed to enrich the curriculum, provide hands-on learning experiences, and foster class community. Many trips are connected to Lamplighter’s partner institutions, such as the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and the Dallas Arboretum, while others explore unique destinations around the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, including the Trinity River Audubon Center, Dallas World Aquarium, Dallas Heritage Village, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Zoo, John Bunker Sands Wetland Center, and the planetarium at UT Arlington.

Each year, the Senior class takes a special trip to Austin to explore historically significant sites across Texas, further connecting their learning to real-world experiences.

Lamplighter students enjoy lunch in their classrooms and have one or two 30-minute recess periods each day.

Lunch Schedule:

• Pre-K: 11:00 – 11:30 a.m.

• Kindergarten, T1, 1st & 2nd Grades: 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

• 3rd & 4th Grades: 12:00 – 12:30 p.m.

Students may bring lunch from home or order hot meals through LunchLink (Monday–Thursday), featuring local favorites such as Bacci’s, Campisi’s, Chick-fil-A, Jason’s Deli, Mooyah, and Pei Wei.

On Fridays, students can participate in the Friday Lunch program, a Lamplighter Parents’ Association (LPA) fundraiser. The program delivers a special meal, typically pizza, and options are available for students with food allergies.
