Children applying to Lamplighter must be at least 3 years of age and potty-trained by August 31, 2026.  

The Lamplighter School recognizes the value of a diverse and inclusive school community. One way that we pursue that goal is through financial aid. Financial aid is available to families who demonstrate financial need. Our admission process is need-blind and financial aid is determined at the time the student is accepted to the School. You can learn more about financial aid here.

The Lamplighter School does not participate in the Texas Educational School Choice (voucher) program. Maintaining our status as an independent school is critical to our ability to determine the mission, governance, programming, and assessment processes that best serve students and their families attending Lamplighter. Families seeking support are encouraged to review the Tuition & Financial Aid page or contact Becky Walker, Director of Enrollment Management.

Availability is always subject to change, but the average number of new students in each program is: 3-year old (50), 4-year old (20), Kindergarten (8), first grade (8), and second, third, and fourth grades are subject to availability.

Throughout the admission process, Lamplighter seeks to identify and enroll qualified students who may best be served by, and contribute to, Lamplighter’s mission. Community applicants (siblings of current students or alumni and the children of alumni and Lamplighter employees) are given preferential consideration when all other factors in the admission process are considered equal. Community applicant status does not confer automatic admission.

Lamplighter’s immunization policy states:

Each student enrolled in the School shall be immunized against vaccine preventable diseases caused by infectious agents in accordance with the immunization schedule adopted by the Texas Department of State Health Services, as outlined in Texas Administrative Code, Title 25 Health Services, §§ 97.61-97.72.

Attendance at the School is contingent on the Student being current on all such immunizations. A student who fails to present required evidence shall not be accepted for enrollment. By June 1 of their entering year, the Student must present a valid, current immunization record. The Lamplighter School does not accept any exemptions to the immunization schedule.
