Spirit Award

The Lamplighter Spirit Award was established in 2003 by the Alumni Council during the School’s 50th anniversary. The Spirit Award is presented to individuals who exemplify the qualities of a lifelong learner and are dedicated to supporting the mission of The Lamplighter School. This honor can be awarded to any member of the Lamplighter community who has made a lasting impact on generations of Lamplighter students.

The Lamplighter Alumni Council presented the 2020-2021 Spirit Award to Shonn Brown, Joe Eastin, and Sarah Weinberg during the annual Spirit Award Luncheon on May 14, 2021.  These individuals embody all of the characteristics of Lamplighter Spirit!

spirit award Nominations
Each year the Lamplighter Alumni Association honors a person(s) who exemplify the qualities of a lifelong learner and are dedicated to supporting the mission of The Lamplighter School. This honor can be awarded to any member of the Lamplighter community who has made a lasting impact on generations of Lamplighter students.

the process
The Lamplighter School Alumni Council accepts nominations for this award from all members of the Lamplighter community. The Alumni Council Nomination Committee reviews the nominations submitted and selects the person(s) who are deemed most deserving of recognition.

All deliberations are kept confidential. The individual(s) chosen to receive awards are honored each year at the Spring Alumni dinner.

We welcome alumni volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to help with the Spirit Award Luncheon, please contact Cindy Connolly, Interim Chief Advancement Officer at cconnolly@thelamplighterschool.org.
