Spirit Award
The Lamplighter Spirit Award was established in 2003 by the Alumni Association during the School’s 50th anniversary. This award is presented to a person or group who embodies the spirit of Lamplighter. This person or group must have the qualities of a lifelong learner, be willing to take risks in his or her field, and display creativity in his or her chosen path of life. This honor can be awarded to alumni and former students, parents, retired faculty or staff members, or friends of Lamplighter, and can be given to more than one person in any given year.

selection process
The Lamplighter School Alumni Council accepts nominations for the Spirit Award from all members of the Lamplighter community. The Alumni Council Spirit Award Committee reviews the nominations and selects the person or group who is deemed most deserving of recognition.
All deliberations are kept confidential. The individual or group chosen to receive the award is honored each year at the Spirit Award Luncheon, which is usually held on campus in late winter or spring. All members of the Lamplighter community are invited to purchase tickets to the event.
