Front Entrance

All campus visitors enter through the front entrance of the School where they are greeted by a receptionist in the lobby. All visitors complete a security check-in and health screening prior to receive a name badge to enter the campus.

Klyde Warren Auditorium

The Klyde Warren Auditorium is a large gathering space featuring a stage and an over-sized sunken well. Monthly Hootenannies, school assemblies, cultural presentations, and special events are held here.

LPA Barn

The iconic red barn and adjacent chicken coop serve as the hub for the School’s signature Lamplighter Layers Corporation, a business run by the fourth grade students. The building was named “LPA Barn” through a generous gift to the School from the Lamplighter Parents’ Association.

Animal Pen

The animal pen offers a shaded space for Lamplighter’s farm animals, including a cow, a pig, a donkey, and goats. In Lamplighter tradition, each year early childhood students vote for the names of the animals on the Lamplighter farm.

Jonsson Garden

The Jonsson Garden is a peaceful green space easily accessible from nearby classrooms. This garden features a circular patio and fountain, as well as a glass art installation, created and donated to the School by the Class of 2020.

Jonsson Nature Trail & Creek

The Jonsson Nature Trail offers students exploration and connection to nature through experiential and hands-on learning. The path winds through the trees and nearby creek and leads to a bird viewing station. 

Greenhouse & Gardens

The greenhouse supports Lamplighter’s environmental science program and reinforces our commitment to environmental stewardship. The greenhouse is located adjacent to a composting station and six raised garden beds.

Playground

The playground features slides, swings, a trike circle, and a zip line. This outdoor area also has spaces for soccer, basketball, tetherball, and wall ball games. The playground hill is topped with a gazebo, providing an expansive lookout point, with a tunnel underneath for exploration.

Zip Line

The zip line is a special part of the Lamplighter playground where Lower School students in grades 1 – 4 can discover thrilling experiences. The dual cables allow students to zip side-by-side, sharing a fun “zip trip” together! 

Academic Wings (North and South)

The academic wings are part of the School’s original architectural design, highlighted by open interior spaces. Collaborative learning spaces are accomplished with the use of extensive glass, skylights, and classrooms without doors opening to a shared space. 

Eastin Family Innovation Lab

The Eastin Family Innovation Lab is a 10,000 square foot building encompassing a maker space, robotics lab, project room, woodworking, environmental science classroom, a teaching kitchen, and two shaded porches for instruction. 

Fine Arts Wing

The Fine Arts Wing features a beautiful high-ceiling art room complete with skylights and adjacent garden; a drama room filled with costumes and a fireplace; and a spacious music room with a piano, bongo drums, and a variety of other instruments. 

Erik Jonsson Media Center

The Erik Jonsson Media Center functions as the school's library and information center. This cozy space features a collection of 34,444 items, plus three fireplaces next to sunken wells for group or individual reading.

Cook Gym

The Cook Gym offers 5,000 square feet of indoor space for our physical education program. The balcony of Cook Gym provides additional seating and flexibility for special events.

Owen Family Soccer Field

The soccer field is an expansion of the playground space. The field is used for daily recess as well as special events such as Carnival, Donuts with Dads, Muffins with Moms, and other community gatherings.

Sport Court

The newly constructed sport court offers basketball and other sports for students during recess. It is also used during special events and is open to teachers to use for project-based learning opportunities.
