Extended Day Programs
Lamplighter offers several programs beyond the traditional school day’s hours. All programs take place on campus.
Before Care is an option for parents who need to start their days a little earlier. From 7:00 a.m. to 7:55 a.m., students may be dropped off early to play board games, read, participate in an arts & crafts activity, or play in Cook Gym, supervised by Lamplighter faculty members. There is no fee for this service, but registration is required. To enroll, complete the Before Care Registration Form and return it to Shari Krage, Auxiliary Programs Coordinator.
For families that need a full day of child care, we offer the Y (YMCA) program from 3:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Lamplighter campus. A wide variety of activities are offered daily by the Y staff such as arts & crafts, games, sports, and homework help. Families may purchase a punch ticket if they would like to use the Y for occasional drop-ins, or they may register their child for the full semester. Registration and fees are handled through the YMCA. View the 2022-2023 YMCA flyer for more information. Visit ymcadallas.org to register.
nightlight after-school enrichment classes
The NightLight after-school program offers an exceptional variety of enrichment classes for Pre-K through fourth grade students. Classes include dance, yoga, sports, private music lessons, world languages, STEM, theater, chess, art, and more. Classes are offered each semester from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily, with private music lessons from 4:45 - 5:15 p.m. for students enrolled in another NightLight class. Registration for fall classes takes place in early-mid August; registration for spring classes takes place late November through mid-December. For more information about the NightLight program, contact Shari Krage, Auxiliary Programs Coordinator.
Conference Child Care
Child care is available during some parent-teacher conference days held four times a year (August, October, February, and May). Any child who is a current Lamplighter student is eligible for child care during their parents’ scheduled conference time(s).
