Summer Programs

The Lamplighter School offers two summer programs, one for our youngest learners and one for students in first through fifth grade. Summer programs typically run for four weeks during June.

Rising Pre-K and Kindergarten Students

FunCamp, our summer program for students entering Pre-K and Kindergarten in the fall, runs for two 2-week sessions, 8:00 – 12:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Each summer, children explore two themes, such as dinosaurs, space, or construction. Through play, books, and crafts, students learn about these themes, while also getting accustomed to basic school activities such as lining up and using materials appropriately.

The cost of one FunCamp session is included in the new student fee for Pre-K and Kindergarten students new to Lamplighter for the upcoming school year.

Rising Kindergarten - Fifth Grade Students

Camp Lamplighter, for rising Kindergarten to fifth graders, also runs for four weeks, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The day is made up of several two-hour classes. Children can sign up for just one class or stay the whole day, depending on their interests and schedule needs. Classes, taught by Lamplighter teachers and outside experts, vary every year. The kids in Camp Lamplighter build and program Lego robots; learn French through fashion, cooking, and fairy tales; act in silly sketches in our extremely popular Funny Farmers troupe; sing; dance; learn chess, yoga, or musical instruments; and much more. We love to try out new camp ideas, and teachers are always creating new and engaging classes for the kids.

*Rising Kindergarteners may enroll in afternoon Camp Lamplighter classes when attending FunCamp in the morning.
