Summer Programs
The Lamplighter School offers two summer programs, one for our youngest learners and one for students in first through fifth grade (Lamplighter enrollment ends at fourth grade, but our students love to come back!) Summer programs typically run for four weeks during the month of June.
Summer 2023
The Lamplighter School is excited for the return of our signature summer programs, FunCamp and Camp Lamplighter! This year's summer programs will run for four weeks, from June 5 - 30, 2023. Both one-week and two-week sessions will be offered. Registration will remain open through Friday, May 19, 2023.
Rising Pre-K and Kindergarten Students
FunCamp, our summer program for students entering Pre-K and Kindergarten in the fall, runs for two 2-week sessions, 8:00 – 12:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Each summer, children explore two themes, such as dinosaurs, space, or construction. Through play, books, and crafts, students learn about these themes, while also getting accustomed to basic school activities such as lining up and using materials appropriately.
The cost of one FunCamp session is included in the new student fee for Pre-K and Kindergarten students new to Lamplighter for the upcoming school year.
Rising 1st - 5th Grade Students
Camp Lamplighter, for first to fifth graders, also runs for four weeks, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The day is made up of two-hour and four-hour classes. Children can sign up for just one class or stay the whole day, depending on their interests and schedule needs. Classes, taught by Lamplighter teachers and outside experts, vary every year. The kids in Camp Lamplighter build and program Lego robots; learn French through fashion, cooking, and fairy tales; act in silly sketches in our extremely popular Funny Farmers troupe; sing; dance; learn chess, yoga, or musical instruments; and much more. We love to try out new camp ideas, and teachers are always creating new and engaging classes for the kids.
