Basketball Academy

Do you want to step up your game? Join Coach Gerald on the court! Learn the proper way to dribble, pass, and shoot through various drills while applying footwork techniques that are sure to improve your game! Strengthening character and teamwork skills will be emphasized. All abilities are welcomed.

Basketball Skills and Drills

Coach Gerald will introduce the game of basketball through various and fun drills so that even the youngest players can establish a strong foundation. Participants will learn how to dribble, pass, and shoot while learning the rules and regulations of the game. Footwork techniques will be introduced as participants build character. No prior experience necessary!

The Big Camp Bake-Off!

Welcome to The Big Camp Bake-Off—where beginners become big-time bakers! Calling all young culinary enthusiasts with a sweet tooth and a passion for pastry perfection! In this delectable camp, we'll mix, blend, and bake our way through the wonderful world of baked goods while uncovering the fascinating history behind baking. From classic cookies to sensational cupcakes, get ready to roll up your sleeves and sprinkle some magic into your kitchen creations. Through hands-on baking adventures and tasty tidbits of baking lore, we'll stir away any worries and whip up a whole lot of fun! Bubble Smoke, and Explosions!

Have fun with chemistry at an exciting camp! Make a crystal garden, synthesize your own slime, learn about our solar system by making a comet with everyday items, and have a shocking time with a Van de Graaff generator by experiencing lightning up close! Mad Science camps are hands-on, involving a large quantity of project material and make-and-take projects.

Budding Entrepreneurs

If you love Shark Tank, this empowering program is for you! Join other intrepid students and develop a business plan for your own business idea. You will learn to take risks and persevere, while making business-like decisions about strategy, marketing and finance (optional activities include building a website and designing business cards). Students build confidence "learning by doing" and make their pitch presentations on the last day!

Chess Fundamentals

The camp focuses on teaching the fundamental rules, piece movements, and basic strategies, such as controlling the center and piece development. Players will learn how to checkmate, avoid common mistakes, and understand basic tactics like forks and pins!

Cooking: Summertime Showdown!

Throughout this camp we will be embarking on a culinary adventure filled with flavor, curiosity, and of course, fun! Our travels will take us across the continents in a whirlwind of tasty treats, uncommon delicacies, and environmental stewardship—because knowing where our food comes from is just as important as knowing how to cook it. This summer camp will be like nothing you have ever experienced before! Crafty Scientists Camp

Crazy, Exciting ChemMystery!

Try your hand as a real Mad Scientist in this whirlwind program on how a lab works! Students learn how to manipulate laboratory equipment at their personal lab bench, create a tiny world of atoms with their very own set of Atomic Coins, create slime using the Mad Science Recipe, and much, MUCH more! A fun, interactive, and age appropriate introduction to chemistry, CHEMWORKS is sure to delight and excite while fostering a life-long love of science!

Creature Feature Jr.

Step outside and immerse yourself in the wonders of nature with a guided adventure each day! Whether you're birdwatching, capturing insects in nets, building pill bug traps, or discovering how earthworms help the soil thrive, there's always something new to explore.

Debate

Students learn the art of persuasion and help select debate topics they find interesting. In a public forum debate format, students work in groups and practice their debating skills in a supportive environment, including developing arguments, issuing rebuttals, providing examples, rebuilding their case and summarizing points of view. Young debaters learn to think on their feet and enhance their public-speaking skills, gaining self confidence in the process.

Digital Groove Music Production

Unleash your inner music producer at "Digital Groove," the ultimate music production camp! Use beats, rhythms, and electronic sounds to create your musical masterpieces with iPads. This camp merges technology and creativity and offers hands-on experience in music production. From composing to mixing/mastering, develop your own unique sound. Explore music software, collaborate with peers, and produce original tracks. Join Digital Groove for a week of innovation, collaboration, and the fun of creating music for the digital age. It's a sonic adventure where every student becomes a digital music virtuoso.

Disney Fun Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable journey at Disney Fun Adventure Camp, where magic meets excitement in the heart of imagination! This camp offers kids a chance to experience the enchanting world of Disney like never before. Disney Fun Adventure Camp is a vibrant fusion of creativity, thrills, and discovery, all wrapped in the magic of Disney. Every day is a new adventure, from Marvel superheroes to classic Disney princesses, campers can explore different Disney worlds through themed activities and interactive workshops. Dive Into Reading and Math

Summer is a time of rest and relaxation, but it can also be a fantastic time to learn and avoid the dreaded “summer slide." This academic class is a fantastic opportunity to give your child an engaging math and literacy experience, while also setting them up for a smooth transition and return to school in August. The session will be equally divided between literacy and math lessons with a 10-minute break between subjects.

Enhanced Vocabulary Through Writing

Students will look to build on their vocabulary knowledge in this class for rising third and fourth graders. Lessons will combine word study with both creative and informational writing.

Exploding Kittens (And Other Crazy Card Games)

Mr. Peck has become obsessed with such silly and ridiculous card games like Exploding Kittens, Goat Overlords, and Rainbow Pirates, to name a few! But he doesn’t often get to play these games so join him for some of the craziest card games you will EVER play! All the card games will be played as part of a tournament and recess points will be awarded to the top players at the end of the week!

First Tee Golf

Calling all future golf pros! Get ready to tee off with the First Tee Golf program. Are you looking for a fun and innovative way for your child to learn the basics of golf? Our program, developed by The First Tee Golf Association and backed by top professionals in the industry, is designed specifically for young children. With oversized club faces, color-coded grips, and target-oriented training tools, your child will be on your way to mastering the four basic shots of golf in no time! Not only will your child develop and improve golf skills, but our curriculum is designed to instill important life-enhancing values as well. They‘ll learn about respect, honesty, and perseverance all while having a blast on the green.

FlagPlay

Looking for a fun and exciting way to get your child up and moving? Look no further than Kidokinetics FlagPlay program! With a variety of games utilizing flag belts, children will be running, throwing, catching and flag-pulling their way to victory while developing important gross and fine motor skills. Our focus on speed, agility, coordination, balance, accuracy, and cardiovascular endurance will keep your child active and engaged in a team-oriented environment. From flag football to capture the flag, our program introduces a range of games that are designed to put the fun first while keeping participants challenged and excited while building confidence.

FunCamp: It’s a Rodeo Round-Up!

Yeehaw! Saddle up for a good time at Lamplighter’s Rodeo Round-Up! Your little cowboys and cowgirls will gallop into an exciting adventure through the Wild West. Each day is filled with hands-on activities, creative play, indoor and outdoor play, music, books, snack and art! So, dust off your boots and hat, and let’s ride into the sunset for two weeks of fun!

FunCamp: The Lamplighter Zoo!

Lions, tigers and bears—oh my! Little animal lovers will go on a wild adventure learning about amazing creatures from around the world. Each day, campers will explore different zoo animals through hands-on activities, creative crafts and exciting games that bring the animal kingdom to life! So, grab your binoculars and hat and get ready for an unforgettable zoo adventure!

Future Tech Innovators

Where fun meets future-ready skills! Give your child a head start in tech! This engaging, hands- on camp blends creativity, problem-solving, and real-world technology skills to prepare young learners for a digital future.

From Doodles to Digital: Graphic Design Camp

Dive into the world of graphic design in this hands-on, imaginative summer camp! Campers will explore the basics of digital art, typography, and color theory while creating their own logos, posters, and social media graphics. With kid-friendly tools and plenty of creative freedom, every camper will leave with a portfolio of unique designs and a deeper understanding of visual communication.

Game Show Marathon

COME ON DOWN! You're the next camper to try out some amazing and exciting game shows! Test your luck with Deal or No Deal and The Joker's Wild! Take the trivia challenge with Jeopardy! Get to the top of the $100,000 Pyramid! Buy a vowel on Wheel of Fortune! We may even invent a few game shows of our own! The grand prize? Lots of recess points for next year!

Green Wonders

Dive into a world of GREEN wonders at Lamplighter during the one season students never get to explore at school: SUMMER! Join us for a week long adventure filled with hands-on activities exploring plants, animals, botany, gardening and the many nature areas (ecosystems) at Lamplighter including the CREEK! Students will help Lamplighter science teachers Mrs. Orozco and Mrs. Roberts refresh the gardens for the upcoming school year including making new garden signs hand-painted by your student. All students will design and build their own miniature gardens, called TERRARIUMS, to bring a touch of nature into their homes.

Harmony and Handiwork

Introducing Harmony and Handiwork, the perfect camp for our youngest music enthusiasts! Little ones will delight in the joy of making music through interactive games, sing-alongs, and age-appropriate instruments. But that's not all—the fun extends to the craft corner, where budding artists will unleash their imaginations, creating musical masterpieces and colorful crafts. Harmony and Handiwork is not just a camp; it's a magical blend of musical notes and creative strokes, creating memories that will echo in the hearts of your young campers!

Hip Hop Dance Camp

Hip Hop: A high-energy dance form that uses the latest age appropriate Hip Hop and Pop music coupled with dance steps influenced by some of today's finest dance choreographers. A style that is incessantly changing, Hip Hop incorporates poppin’, lockin', and body isolations. Students will learn the trendy hip hop style of today as well as old school, and always emphasizes dancers finding their own individual swagger and style. Hip Hop is a fun, high-energy way to express oneself in a big way!

Hola Amigos Fun Camp

Hola Amigo! Join us in a FUN, interactive and enriching environment for children to learn and become confident Spanish speakers. Every class begins with our mascot, Paulina Parrot, who greets the kids and reveals the emphasis. Our class emphasis changes and incorporates age-appropriate songs, dance, crafts, games, and conversation to ensure every child remains engaged throughout the lesson. Each class will provide a review of the previous lessons to ensure the children retain their knowledge and continue to build confidence and vocabulary.

Improv Olympics

If you like to make things up on the spot, want to get better at making things up on the spot or want to learn how to make things up on the spot, this camp is for you. Though a series of games and exercises, we’ll learn how all those amazing people on Whose Line Is It Anyway and Saturday Night Live create the funny out of nothing. We’ll also have a special Improv Olympics performance at the end of the week!

The Jedi Way

With so much awesome Star Wars content out there, it’s time to feed our inner Jedi! We provide the lightsaber; you master The Force! Draw the newest aliens for the Senate or the Mos Eisley cantina! We have X, Y, A, and B Wings, but can you design ships for all the other letters of the alphabet? Fly the Death Star trench in a fighter of your own design! Make the Kessel Run! Test your Star Wars Trivia!

Jr. CEO

How cool would it be for you to be the boss at Apple or Nike for a day? In this leadership program, you can! Students act as CEOs for leading companies and collaborate to make strategic recommendations to address real business issues. Case studies include popular companies and examine the role of female and minority CEOs. Students enhance their problem solving skills, develop business savvy, and cultivate a strategic mindset as future leaders.

Learning Lacrosse

Let’s Learn Lacrosse! Your child will have the opportunity to learn and develop important skills such as scooping, passing, catching, cradling and shooting in a non-competitive environment with trained coaches. Not only will they develop tactical, technical and cooperative skills for lacrosse but also speed, agility, coordination, endurance, and accuracy for a healthy and active lifestyle. Learn to Ride Bike Camp

Welcome to Wheely Fun learn to ride Bike Camp, where young kiddos hop on their bikes and pedal into a summer of excitement! Our camp is designed to instruct bike riding basics from the ground up—no previous riding experience needed! Your rider will build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. Each day, campers will also participate in engaging activities like balance games, obstacle courses, and other activities to break from biking. Our experienced instructors focus on teaching essential biking techniques, safety rules, and the joy of riding, ensuring that every child leaves with a big smile and a new sense of independence. LEGO® Brixology Engineers!

Build a different LEGO project, inspired by an engineering theme, in each class. Explore engineering fields including mechanical, structural, aerospace, nautical, and bioengineering. Welcome to Kidokinetics Bowling where kids can strike up fun and make new friends! This exciting class and camp is designed to teach young bowlers the fundamentals of the game while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. Each day offers skill-building drills, friendly competitions, and fun challenges that help improve their technique and confidence. Our experienced coaches will guide the campers through proper bowling form, scoring, and etiquette, ensuring that everyone leaves with a love for the game. Whether your child is a beginner or looking to enhance their skills, they’ll to roll into lots of strikes and smiles! *Simulated lanes created for class/camp

Let’s Skate

Rollerblading creates a fun and healthy environment for young children, boosts youth fitness, and teaches a life-long physical activity. Your child will develop cardiovascular endurance, balance, and coordination while having fun and building confidence. All equipment, including skates, knee/elbow guards, and safety helmets are required to be provided by participant. Perfect for entry level girls and boys!

Level Up in Robotics and Coding

This new offering is for kids who are ready to take their robotics and coding to a new level. We will use SPIKE Prime in order to expose campers to higher-level robotics concepts and the ability to utilize more complex sensors and setups. We'll also use Scratch coding in an individualized way, assessing each child's pre-existing skills on Day 1 and coming up with a learning plan for each student to ensure they're pushing themselves and learning something new each day.

Mad Machines and Crazy Contraptions

Mad Machines & Crazy Contraptions! journey to the future and examine the ultramodern inventions of the 23rd century. Design the future - today! Create mini lightsabers, “green energy,” and hovercraft. With a little bit of ingenuity, you’ll construct catapults and forts and then lay siege, fabricating a winning Egg Drop design.

Math Number Stories and More

Take a deep dive in to numbers stories in this mixed class for rising third and fourth graders. Students will focus on strategies for identifying the equations within a number story and how to best solve them.

Memory Makers Photography Camp

Does your child have an eye for capturing special moments? In Memory Makers Photography Camp, students get hands-on experience with photography using tablets! This unique camp immerses young photographers in the fundamentals of photography, covering essentials like Composition, Lighting, and other key techniques used by professionals to create stunning images. Each session, campers will explore various photography techniques and experiment with the camera app through exciting activities. They'll capture the beauty of nature on outdoor walks, hone their own take on everyday life, and practice unique angles and perspectives around campus. By the end of the camp, students will build a personal portfolio showcasing their creativity and newly developed skills, capturing memories to last a lifetime. Money Math

This innovative foundation on financial literacy also serves as a practical math lab where students learn and reinforce computational skills, while developing a mindset for healthy financial habits. From playing money math games to learning about budgeting through engaging activities, students have fun while they enhance their “real life” math skills!

My First Lemonade Stand

Let's sell lemonade! Young students become "lemonade entrepreneurs" and learn how to make yummy lemonade and earn money selling it! From designing marketing flyers to estimating profits to experimenting with recipes, students have fun while developing business savvy. As an optional showcase event, students launch their lemonade stand to raise money for a charity they select.

My First Piggy Bank

Earn, save, spend, donate! Let's learn about money! This innovative program provides a solid foundation on financial literacy for kids in a fun setting. Games and hands-on activities help students internalize key concepts (like money, budgeting and saving) in an engaging and supportive environment fostering teamwork. Students use their arts & crafts skills to make their own piggy banks.

NASA – Academy of Future Space Explorers

Blast-off on knowledge of flight! This camp is an exciting study on rockets. Campers build their own rockets and planes, experiment with propulsion systems, launch and recover rockets! Each day campers create amazing things to take home. As NASA partners, we bring the NASA based camp curriculum to our campers! Mad Science camps are hands-on, involving a large quantity of project material and make-and-take projects.

USTA Net Generation Tennis is a fun and engaging way to introduce your child to the exciting world of tennis! Our program is designed specifically for young children, teaching them all the basic skills they need to know without requiring a court. Pokemon Wow

If you love Pokémon but wish the monsters you thought up in your imagination could be real Pokémon cards, then this is the class for you! Bring your decks from home or use the cards we’ll design in class. We’ll also get to watch some classic Poke-clips from our favorite cartoon, try to FINALLY get Pikachu back in his Poke-ball, and invent new ways to catch them all with a tournament at the end of the week!

Poms and Cheer Camp

This class is designed to improve self-confidence, physical health, and teamwork skills all while having a ton of fun! Learn and perfect arm movements, cheers, chants, and choreography that are full of excitement and energy. Students focus on developing strength and flexibility along with technique as a basis for tumbling skills.

PowerKids on Wheels

PowerKids On Wheels exposes your athletes to riding a bike, scooter, roller skates and goes on lots of other wheely fun adventures around the beautiful Lamplighter campus! Bring your own helmet and enjoy your wheels up!

Red Hot Robots

Join us in red-hot robot exploration! Discover the inner workings of robots, experiment with circuits, sensors and power supplies. Explore sound sensing, line tracking and solar power robots. Build your own robot to keep! This camp utilizes make-and-take Robots, assembled by campers.

Run the Bases

Get ready to score big! Join us for Run the Bases, where kids will learn the essentials of running bases while having fun playing kickball, T-ball and baseball. Our program not only teaches the fundamentals of these sports but also helps children develop cardiovascular endurance and teamwork skills in a supportive and exciting environment. Imagine the sense of accomplishment and exhilaration as your child races across home plate with confidence and skill. Run the Bases gives your child an unforgettable experience that sets them up for success both on and off the field!

Scratch Jr.

Hands-on, interactive, and future-focused—this camp is the perfect way to inspire the next generation of tech innovators! Led by expert instructors, students engage in interactive lessons and hands-on projects designed to make learning exciting, educational, and impactful. Hardware Basics – Understand how computers and devices work from the inside out. Data Visualization – Transform numbers into colorful charts and meaningful stories. Shots and Swings

Shots and Swings is the perfect combination of fitness and fun! Our program combines golf and tennis to teach your children basic skills while emphasizing the fun of physical activity. From putting and chipping to groundstrokes and net play, your child will develop their agility, coordination, speed, balance, and more in a confidence-building environment. Shots and Swings gives your child the opportunity to develop important physical skills while having a blast!

Slide Into Reading and Math

Engage in team-based engineering challenges and participate in hands-on activities that cover a variety of engineering including mechanical, structural, and aerospace! Kids will learn vocab and concepts while they're having fun and working on skills such as teamwork, communication, and working within constraints! Great for anyone who loves a challenge and is eager to learn.

Splash into Literacy & Math

Splash into Literacy & Math Camp will be a great way to get your child ready to enter Kindergarten with more confidence by diving into the Big 5 Pond! The program will include, explicit phonemic awareness instruction, systematic, explicit phonics, vocabulary instruction, and reading comprehension work. The Big 5 will be taught in a fun, hands on experience with lots of games and small group interaction. The students will also immerse themselves in numbers, sequencing, patterns and exploration of numbers everywhere!

Sports on a Stick

This fun will focus on fun and improve strength, agility, focus and over-all body conditioning. Games and skills with lots of fun! Explore sports on a stick—tennis, pickleball, badminton, lacrosse, jai lai, table tennis and more!! The most fun and engaging camp experience!!

STEM Discovery using LEGO® Materials

Let your imagination run wild with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects as you discover the world around us through our inquiry-based learning model. Projects are rotated seasonally to ensure that both new and returning students can explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system.

Design and innovate with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Superhero Art!

Up...up...and away with an awesome hero (and villain) experience! We'll get to doodle our way through heroes from the late 1930s to today, spend a day with everybody's favorite bad guys, and wrap up the week creating heroes (or villains) of our own! Students will get to keep a collection of all their art during the course of the week and enjoy some vintage and modern hero cartoons as well.

Swiftie Summer Spectacular: Sing, Dance, and Shine!

Join us for an unforgettable week of Taylor Swift fun! Your child will sing, dance, and create to the music they love, choosing favorite songs and bringing them to life through performances and activities. It's the perfect blend of creativity, confidence-building, and friendship—designed for every Swiftie!

Tumbling & Gymnastics

Join us for Tumbling & Gymnastics! All of the exciting events from balance beam to vault skills, to floor exercise to bar skills, this class experience will have you smiling upside-down! All levels of skill are welcome.

USA Archery Fundamentals

Kidokinetics USA Archery Fundamentals program is designed for elementary children looking to learn the basics of this fantastic Olympic sport! Archery will give your child the opportunity to develop important skills such as focus, concentration, coordination, balance, strength, stability and accuracy. As an official partner of USA Archery, our camps utilize their nationally recognized curriculum. Lead coaches are certified by USA Archery for safety and quality of curriculum presentation. Your child will have fun with games and challenges teaching them to thrive on and off the range!

A Very Potter Summer

Let’s make a little magic of our own this summer as we transform Lamplighter into Hogwallers, the American branch campus of Hogwarts. No Slytherin or Gryffindor here (we’ve got our own house names). We will seek out our own wands and master the arts of spell casting. We’ll play an impromptu game of street level Quidditch. We might even sample a few Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans. Brush up on your Potter trivia and prepare for a wizard duel or two!

This fun program helps students develop a global mindset and build international awareness early in life, an important skill in today's increasingly interconnected world. Students explore cultural differences across countries, languages, currencies, country flags, geography games, famous landmarks, current global events, diplomacy and come up with solutions to global problems like hunger, poverty and pollution.
