
Current Endowed Funds
Lamplighter seeks to have a robust endowment that will support the School for today's students and for generations to come. We thank these donors for their foresight, and we thank hundreds of other donors who support these established funds year in and year out. Together, these investments continue to grow and benefit The Lamplighter School.
General Support
The Chandler ’09, Cameron ’10 and Campbell ’12 Crates General Endowed Fund was established in May 2008.
Margaret Jonsson Family Foundation Endowed Fund was established in 2007 by Margaret Jonsson Rogers and the family foundation to help increase the resources Lamplighter has to secure the institution. The fund is unrestricted in purpose. Its income can be used as most needed by the school.
Jerry R. Junkins Family Foundation General Endowed Fund was established in 2007 by Sally Junkins, grandparent of Katie Kerrigan ’05, David Kerrigan ’08, and Patrick Kerrigan ’11. The fund is unrestricted in purpose, enabling Lamplighter to use the income for its highest priorities each year.
The Kraus Family Endowed Fund was established in 2006 by Lisa and Peter Kraus to help position Lamplighter for a strong future. The fund is unrestricted in purpose, enabling Lamplighter to use the income for its highest priorities each year. The Krauses hope, by their example, to inspire others to invest in the wonderful learning environment that has long been Lamplighter's trademark.
Lamplighter General Endowed Fund was established in 2005 through gifts from trustees to provide unrestricted income for the school, giving future staff and board members flexibility to use the funds where the school needs the resources most.
The Patty and David Miller Family Endowed Fund was established in 2005 by Patty and David Miller to position Lamplighter for a strong future. The fund is unrestricted in purpose, enabling Lamplighter to use the income for its highest priorities each year. As a long-time Board member and former Chairman, David understands the need to give the school flexibility over time. The Millers hope that their gift will be one of many investments in the wonderful learning environment that has long been Lamplighter's trademark. They also hope that their gift will help to ensure that this environment will continue to be wonderful for generations to come.
The Kate ’04 and Michael ’08 Mosle Endowed Fund was established in 2005 by Jennifer and Jon Mosle and Paula and Jon Mosle.
The Katie ’06 and Whit ’09 Payne General Endowed Fund was established in 2008.
Sharma Family General Endowed Fund was established in 2008.
Klyde Warren ’13 General Endowed Fund was established in 2009 to supplement resources available to Lamplighter for general purposes.
Faculty Support
Alumni Faculty Salary Support Endowed Fund was established in 2003 through the alumni giving program to provide resources to support highly competitive compensation for Lamplighter faculty. The fund recognizes the support alumni give to the school in appreciation for the wonderful experiences they had as students.
The Carty Faculty Salary Support Endowed Fund was established in 2006 by Ana and Don Carty to assist in enhancing the school's financial foundation and to help Lamplighter continue to support the faculty who influence, encourage, and enrich the lives of students. The fund is designated to support competitive faculty compensation.
The Carty Faculty Professional Development Endowed Fund was established in 2006 through a contribution from Ana and Don Carty to assist in enhancing the school's financial foundation and to help Lamplighter continue to support the faculty who influence, encourage, and enrich the lives of students. The fund is designated to provide professional development experiences that keep faculty engaged in, excited about, and dedicated to their students.
Erik Jonsson Endowment for Teacher Development was established in 1996 by the O’Donnell Foundation in memory of Erik Jonsson to provide resources to improve the teaching skills of the Lamplighter faculty, with priority given to enhancing their ability to use technology as a teaching tool. The fund recognizes the instrumental influence Erik Jonsson had in the life of the school as Chairman of the Board and generous benefactor.
Lamplighter Faculty Salary Support Endowed Fund was established in 2003 through gifts from faculty, staff, parents, and friends. The fund is dedicated to helping Lamplighter have the resources to continue to recruit and retain the best and brightest teachers.
Lamplighter Faculty Professional Development Endowed Fund was established in 2005 through a commitment by a trustee to provide resources enabling faculty to participate in professional development activities such as seminars, conferences, or workshops to enhance their teaching skills and/or improve their subject knowledge.
LPA Faculty Salary Support Endowment was established in 2005 through a contribution from the Lamplighter Parents' Association to provide resources to support highly competitive compensation for Lamplighter faculty. The fund recognizes the immeasurable contributions of the LPA and Lamplighter parents in making the school a wonderful educational community.
Lear Family Faculty Professional Development Endowed Fund was established in 2014.
The Pollock Family Faculty Professional Development Endowed Fund was established in 2006 by Karen '76 and Richard Pollock to enable faculty to participate in professional development experiences that will energize them, inspire them, and challenge them to be even better teachers. The Pollocks understand that teachers have significant influence on the lives of their students and hope that through these enrichment opportunities that future generations of students will continue to benefit from the enthusiasm, dedication, and joy that Lamplighter teachers share with their students.
Rochelle Family Endowment for Faculty Professional Development was established in 2018.
Ward-Purdy Faculty Diversity Endowment Fund was established in 2008 to enhance the diversity of the school's faculty.
Student Financial Support
Chang-Myers Family Financial Aid Endowed Fund was established in 2006 by Lily and Scott Myers, parent of Christian Myers ’12, to help assist needy and deserving families experience the wonderful educational environment that they have enjoyed at Lamplighter.
Lamplighter Financial Aid Endowed Fund was established in 2003 through various gifts from parents, alumni parents, faculty, staff, and the LPA to provide resources to support families who need financial assistance to enable their child or children to attend Lamplighter.
Eugene McDermott Foundation Financial Aid Endowed Fund was established in 2008 by the Foundation to provide resources to support families who need financial assistance to enable their child or children to attend Lamplighter.
The Jess Merkle Family Foundation Financial Aid Endowed Fund in 2007 by Virginia and Paul Merkle and Betty Merkle Schultz and Brian Schultz to provide resources to support families who need financial assistance to enable their child or children to attend Lamplighter.
Katherine ’10 and Matthew ’11 Pollock Financial Aid Endowed Fund was established in 2009 to support student financial aid.

Program Support
Brown Family Pre-Kindergarten Endowed Fund was established in 2007 to provide resources that support the acquisition of academic supplies, materials, and equipment in the pre-kindergarten program.
Campbell Media Center Endowed Fund was established in 2006 by Tamara and David Campbell, parents of Carolina Campbell ’09 and Colin Campbell ’11. The Campbells want to help make sure that students have access to a media center that has significant resources. They believe that reading is a critical skill and that children who enjoy reading have an asset that will serve them well in education, in their careers, and in their lives.
Maggie Corrigan Visiting Artist Endowed Fund was established in 2006 by Emily ’73 and David ’68 Corrigan, parents of Margaret ’01, Allen ’03, and David ’06. The Corrigan family has a long history with Lamplighter. This fund honors this history, as it helps to give students “real-life” experiences by bringing guest artists, lecturers, authors, and specialists to campus to enrich the wonderful learning environment that has long been Lamplighter’s trademark.
The Ford/Varel and Owen Families Technology Endowed Fund was established in 2008 by Carrie Varel Ford and Kyle Ford ’74 to support Lamplighter’s technology program.
The Krakow Rushton Technology Endowed Fund was established by Leslie ’69 and Bob Krakow and Lynn and Jim Rushton. The Krakows are parents of Ben ’08 and Eli ’10. The Rushtons are parents of Ward ’08 and Cal ’10. Both couples value technology as an instructional tool and want to help make sure that future Lamplighter students and faculty have access to current technology.
The C. Kent Kunkel Chair in Science and Math Endowed Fund was established in 2016 by the Vaughn Vennerberg family in memory of Kent Kunkel will provide student focused educational activities including hands on development of mathematical and science related enrichment skills.
Lamplighter Media Center Endowed Fund was established in 2005 through a commitment by a trustee to provide resources to support the acquisition of media center resources and to help Lamplighter encourage a love of reading in students.
Lamplighter Technology Endowed Fund was established in 2006 through gifts from faculty to support Lamplighter’s efforts to remain technologically up-to-date in the classroom and around campus.
Carrie ’00 and Cody ’08 Thoma Patterson Environmental Science Endowed Fund was established in 2007 by Gail Thoma Patterson and Dan Patterson, Lamplighter parents. The Patterson’s established the fund to support the environmental science program at Lamplighter, a program that helps students explore, experience, understand, and value the natural world.
Suzanne and B.G. Porter Community Education Endowed Fund was established in 2007 by Suzanne and B.G. ’75 Porter, parents of Wilton ’04 and Lucas ’08, to support field trips or guest lecture experiences that expose our students to the richness and diversity of the Dallas community.
The Charles H. Rose Environmental Science Endowed Fund was established by Catherine and Will ’77 Rose, parents of Alex Rose ’10, Charlie Rose ’12, and Jack Rose ’13. The Roses established this fund to help ensure that future Lamplighter students will share in learning experiences that help them understand and respect nature and our outdoor environment.
The Edward Alexander Rose Technology Endowed Fund was established in 2006 by Catherine and Will ’77 Rose, parents of Alex Rose ’10, Charlie Rose ’12, and Jack Rose ’13. The Roses established this fund to help make sure that Lamplighter can respond positively and creatively to instructional needs that involve the purchase of computer hardware, academic software, or related instructional equipment for teachers and students. They want to help make sure that Lamplighter has the latest technological tools.
The John W. Rose Media Center Endowed Fund was established by Catherine and Will ’77 Rose, parents of Alex Rose ’10, Charlie Rose ’12, and Jack Rose ’13. The Roses established the media center fund to recognize the importance of reading in early childhood education and to help make sure that Lamplighter’s media center has the resources to acquire the best materials for students and faculty.
