Family STEM Night
In recent years, students at Lamplighter have had the opportunity to attend a special Science Night either on campus or at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science as part of the School’s strategic partnership with the museum.
For the January 2020 event, Lamplighter science faculty members teamed up with representatives from the Perot Museum, Dallas Arboretum, and Frontiers of Flight Museum to share presentations on themes including “Moon Craters,” “Levitation,” “Weather Power,” “Edible Plant Parts,” “Invisibility,” and “Insect Mouthparts 101.” Arriving parents and students were greeted by fourth grade student ambassadors before exploring the mobile planetarium and enjoying the various hands-on activities and craft projects (not to mention the grilled cheese food truck)! Science Night is an engaging, fun evening of scientific discovery for Lamplighter students and their families.
