SMU

Lamplighter recently partnered with the SMU Maker Education Project to offer the next generation of innovation and creativity to our students. The SMU Maker Education Project is a partnership between the Lyle School of Engineering and the Simmons School of Education, providing training, tools, and programs for maker education in schools. As part of this partnership, SMU’s “MakerTruck” has visited the Lamplighter campus to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities in this mobile makerspace, filled with high-tech and low-tech tools and resources, as well as knowledge team members who are eager to bring maker-based education to educators. In addition, Lamplighter also works with the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education & Human Development at SMU to offer professional development programs for our faculty.
