Faculty Openings and Faculty Application

Kindergarten Teacher

The Lamplighter School is currently seeking a dynamic, innovative, and experienced teacher for a self-contained Kindergarten class. We are searching for candidates who are passionate about teaching young children and have an understanding of independent education. We want teachers who strive for excellence and who actively participate in team-building models with students, parents and colleagues. Kindergarten teachers report to the Director of Early Childhood and work closely with other faculty to create a supportive atmosphere and academic program that promotes creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration.

Candidates must value play, project-based learning, cooperative learning, and developmentally appropriate practices. They should effectively and creatively apply these practices in daily lessons. Experience with the developmental needs of five and six years olds is necessary. Expert knowledge of early literacy, guiding reading, Lucy Calkins writing workshop, and EveryDay Math is desired.

A master’s degree and at least 1-2 years of teaching Kindergarten-1st is preferred. Excellent command of English language is required. Criminal background check is required.


Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

The Lamplighter School seeks a qualified Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. Knowledge of child development and curriculum, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues are essential qualities required for the job.

Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree, Masters degree preferred. Excellent command of English language required. Criminal background check required.


Kindergarten Assistant       

The Lamplighter School is seeking a part-time assistant to help the classroom teacher with activities and material preparation. We are searching for candidates who are passionate about working with young children. 

A bachelor’s degree is required and experience with the developmental needs of five and six years olds is preferred. Excellent command of English language and a background check are required.  Hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Part-Time Librarian

The Lamplighter School is seeking a qualified candidate for Part-Time Librarian. The successful candidate will have extensive library teaching experience, a track record of collaborating effectively with teachers and a student-centered approach. The Part-time Librarian must have an in-depth knowledge of children’s literature, a love of children, and a forward-thinking mindset. School year hours: 7:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. three days/week and 7:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. one-half day/week. This position will also work ten days in the summer. This position reports to the Media Center Coordinator and Assistant Head for Academics and works closely with students, faculty, and parents. The staff includes one Media Center Coordinator, one Part-Time Librarian, and two dozen library volunteers.

A master’s degree preferred. Library science degree a plus and library and/or classroom teaching experience preferred. Excellent command of English language required. Criminal background check required.

Staff Openings and Staff Application

Human Resources Coordinator

The Lamplighter School is currently seeking a full-time (30 hour/week) Human Resources Coordinator. This position is responsible for assisting with HR related tasks in the following areas: payroll, recruitment, benefits administration, policy implementation and employment law compliance. Candidates must be detail-oriented, deadline-oriented and possess strong organizational skills. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business preferred. At least three or more years of experience in human resources or financial environment.
