Ways To Give

Lamplighter Fund

Lamplighter Fund gifts provide direct funding for educational initiatives and operational enhancements that tuition alone does not cover.  The Lamplighter Fund runs from June 1 through May 31 and is coordinated each year by the school.  Lamplighter Fund gifts are unrestricted.  They are used during the year in which they are received to support operating priorities.  The school solicits contributions to the Lamplighter Fund with the help of volunteers through letters, email, the website, and phone calls. Lamplighter Fund gifts are made each fiscal year. Gifts may be made by cash, check, credit card, or stock transfer.  Lamplighter Fund gifts make a difference for current students by providing the school resources that are used to ensure excellence in the academic program every day.  The Lamplighter Fund is the school's highest fundraising priority and 100% parent participation is always the goal.

Tribute Gifts

Tribute gifts are given to honor or recognize friends, children, family members, or teachers. Tribute gifts are accepted year-round. Tribute gifts can be designated to the Lamplighter Fund, the Media Center, or any existing restricted or endowed fund. The purchase of books at the Media Center Open House and the Birthday Book Program are organized solicitations for tribute gifts. Tribute gifts may be made by cash, check, or credit card.  Tribute gifts celebrate the relationship individuals have with Lamplighter as they enhance the educational experience of our students.

Endowment gifts are held and invested by the school. They function like a savings account, from which a portion of investment income will be drawn annually to support specific programs. Endowment gifts are accepted year-round.  Endowment gifts can be designated by the donor to support a specific area within the school such as faculty salaries, Media Center, or technology.  To learn more about endowment giving opportunities, please contact Clayton Hollingsworth, Director of Advancement and Communications, at 214-369-9201 x354.  Endowment gifts are most often pledged over 3-5 years.  Payments may be made by cash, check, credit card, stock transfer, or appreciated property.  A strong endowment creates a source of income beyond tuition and serves as a permanent asset that improves the financial stability of the school.

LPA Spirit Store

The Spirit Store funds the community building activities of the LPA such as grade level events, Donuts with Dads, Muffins with Moms, and faculty and staff appreciation efforts.  Spirit Store merchandise is coordinated annually by parent volunteers and is open from mid-August through May 31.  The Spirit Store includes all programs coordinated by the LPA in which a service or product is sold.  This includes Friday Lunch and Spirit Store merchandise.  The LPA encourages participation in these programs through email, the school website, and eNews.  Purchases may be made by check or credit card.  LPA events, communication, and volunteering enrich the school in immeasurable ways.  Supporting the operations of the LPA strengthens the school community.

LPA Auction

The Auction serves as the LPA's largest fundraiser and community builder: Proceeds from the Auction are designated to a specific fund each year.  The LPA Auction is coordinated annually by parent volunteers.  Proceeds from the LPA Auction are directed to the LPA Faculty Professional Development Endowment Fund, unless otherwise determined.  The LPA solicits participation in the Auction through email, the school website, eNews, and personal contact.  The Auction solicits contributions of items, services, and sponsorship.  In addition, guests can purchase Auction items by cash, check, or credit card.  The Auction provides additional resources for the school while providing a social event for the Lamplighter community.

Planned Giving

A planned gift is any gift that a donor includes in their estate planning.  It often allows the donor to keep more of what they have earned through their lifetime, but allows a far greater gift to Lamplighter in the future.  Planned gifts are accepted year-round.  Planned gifts can be designated by the donor to support a specific area within the school.  Contact Clayton Hollingsworth, Director of Advancement and Communications, online through the "Make a Gift to Lamplighter" request, or directly at 214-369-9201 x354 to include Lamplighter in donor estate plans.  Planned gift examples include gifts of real estate, life insurance, retirement plans, bequests, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts. Gifts will benefit future generations of Lamplighter students.
