Partnerships
In 2010, Lamplighter established strategic partnerships with leading institutions across the Dallas area. Through these collaborations, the School gains access to innovative thinking and emerging practices that help strengthen both our curriculum and community.
Students and employees alike benefit from these longstanding partnerships in a variety of ways. Learn more about the collaborations Lamplighter has fostered for more than a decade with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Arboretum, Southern Methodist University (SMU), and United to Learn.
Perot Museum of Nature and Science
Lamplighter’s partnership with the Perot Museum provides engaging learning opportunities for students, faculty, and parents alike. Through this collaboration, our community benefits from:

-
Partnership support for the School’s annual K–2 Family STEM Night
-

Dallas Arboretum
Lamplighter’s partnership with the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden enriches the student experience by expanding access to nature, gardening, outdoor learning, and environmental science. Through this partnership, our community benefits from:

Southern Methodist University
Through university workshops offered in partnership with SMU, Lamplighter faculty engage in meaningful dialogue with fellow educators, supporting ongoing professional renewal and growth. This collaboration helps ensure that Lamplighter continues to provide students with the strongest instructional approaches and current best practices in early childhood and elementary education.
Faculty also participate in sessions led by representatives from SMU’s research department within the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education & Human Development. Through this partnership, both faculty and students have opportunities to work alongside SMU researchers, contributing to innovative thinking that shapes the future of mathematics and STEM education.

United to Learn
United to Learn is a coalition of public elementary schools, private institutions, and engaged community members working together to build relationships across Dallas while sharing resources and programming.
Over the years, this partnership has connected Lamplighter students with peers in nearby Dallas Independent School District (DISD) schools through initiatives such as pen pal exchanges, author visits, collaborative art projects, special field trips, and a Saturday Science Club. The partnership also provides Lamplighter faculty with networking and professional development opportunities, fostering collaboration and shared learning with teachers across DISD schools.
